8 is GREAT!!!

Happy 8 Months Eleanor!!!

This month was especially exciting because someone very special got to celebrate and join in on the monthly photo shoot for the very FIRST time!!!!

Eleanor and Daddy had a lot of fun together this afternoon taking pictures and Daddy got to experience first hand how tough it is to get this girlie to sit still for pictures :)

Eleanor is currently weighing in at 17 lbs. 10 ozs. and is 27 inches long. She has 1 tooth on the bottom and a second trying to make its appearance. Along with cereal and oatmeal, Ellie loves to eat peas, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, apples, bananas, mangos, and she had prunes for the first time today. I am having a lot of fun making her baby food :)

Ellie is saying all the vowel sounds and ba-ba, ya-ya, ma-ma (a lot), ga-ga, and working really hard on da-da. The closest she has gotten is ba-da. She makes all kinds of noises, grunts, and squeals.

She takes 2 naps a day each about 1-2 hours (finally taking longer naps consistently, phew) and continues to go to bed between 7:45-8:00pm, wake up around 7:00-7:30am. Thankfully her naps are getting longer because she is SOOOO active!!

Ellie is officially a crawler!! Gates up, house baby proofed, check! I got an awesome video this morning of her crawling from one end of her playmat to the next then back again. She is been doing the backwards and around in circles crawling for awhile but this morning with much determination she got the forward crawling down solidly.

She loves to be sitting up on the floor playing and exploring the world around her. She loves singing songs like Patty Cake, If Your Happy and You Know it, and so many more. Her favorite game is playing "Where's Ellie?" She loves to cover her face with something and wait for you to ask where's Ellie, she kicks her legs and laughs then quickly pulls the cover off her face. It's so much fun!!!

Ellie is curious about everything!! Especially her brother Finnegan. Thankfully he has been very tolerable of her so far but her curiosity is just going to keep growing. She loves to watch him play in the backyard. I am really working on teaching her to be gentle with him. Haha, yeah that's a hard concept to explain to an infant :)

Ellie loves to be outside. Whether it's sitting on the deck, riding in the stroller, swinging on her swing, sitting in the grass, or playing in the baby pool with Mommy and Daddy (we did that for the first time today, picture to come later) she just loves the outdoors.

I love this picture because it looks like she is reading the sign. This child loves books!! It's a good thing because having been a Kindergarten teacher I have boxes and boxes of children's books. She has lots of little board books and she plays, looks at, and chews on them (yes she loves paper) for the longest time.

We just purchased our convertible car seat a Britax and even though she can still fit her in infant car seat, we have got it on hand when we are ready to make the switch.

Ellie's crib height is now going to be moved down from the middle level to the lowest level because she is now starting to pull herself up with the railing. Right now she gets to her knees so she can chew on the teething cover on the railing. Now I am going to need a step stool get her in and out of the crib :)

Ellie loves playing with her legs and feet, as you can see. Always doing splits. Our silly girl!!

So many things to share about Ellie is this month and I am sure I could keep rattling on but I am going to quickly finish this post and get back to precious family time.

Eleanor, you are our dear little baby girl and we love you so much!!!
