Welcome Home Eleanor Marie!!

Pat and I are happy to introduce the new addition to our family, Eleanor Marie O'Donnell who we affectionately call Ellie!!

She was born at 12:19am on November 2, 2010 weighing in it 6 lbs. 6 ozs. and 20 inches long. Words cannot describe the joy and love we have for our little girl. Ellie is truly an answer to so many prayers.

Today she is exactly one week old!!

Here are a few things we love about Miss Ellie: (there are way too many to list)
  • The most special thing is that she shares her birthday with her daddy and the anniversary of our first date back in 2001.

  • She gets hiccups at least 3 times a day. Sometimes before she eats, sometimes after she eats.

  • We love the way she holds our fingers, it really helps to calm her down when she is upset.

  • When Finn is barking she is not fazed in the least bit. I think she heard enough of it while she was in momma's belly :)

  • We love how alert she is when we are reading her a story.

  • Her legs are constantly moving when you change her diaper.

  • She always manages to get her hands out of her swaddle. Ellie loves to have her hands right up by her face.

  • I love the milk around her mouth when she is done eating. After feedings she'll point her toes, lean back on the boppy, and stretch her arms way over her head.

  • Her favorite thing to lay on is her newborn lounger. Well, she loves to lounge period, in her swing, on your lap, etc. She is such a cubble bug :)

  • We love the sound of her breathing in the middle of the night.
  • She cries when you put her into the car seat but once you pick it up and start moving she calms down.
  • She melts your heart when she looks up at you with her big sweet eyes.

I could go on and on about Ellie. Our house is filled with so much love and we are overcome with emotions. God has created this amazing little girl and we can't wait to watch her grow, learn new things, and see her personality blossom. We are going to savor every moment. :)

We Love you Ellie!!!

  1. Oh Lauren what a great post! CONGRATULATIONS on baby Ellie! She is so so cute! She looks a lot like you, I think :) And reading all of those little things she does, reminds me so much of Emily (my baby...3 months old) She has the same reactions to car seats, and stretching after eating, and having her arms/hands up by her face and out of the swaddle. Oh I'm so happy for you and this special time of getting to know your baby. Congratulations again!
