It's actually kind of hard for me to say.
Miss Eleanor Marie O'Donnell is 2 years old today!!
I can't believe it's been 2 years since our sweet little girl was born and as Pat says, she's the best birthday present he could ever get :) It's so special that they share their birthday.
At 2 years old Ellie weighs somewhere around 27 lbs. and about 34 inches tall. (That's my estimate based on the home scale)
I took these pictures a couple weeks ago at my parent's house in Nashville.
Ellie is such a fun little girl. She makes us laugh constantly. She talks so much and has really grown up in the past few months. I guess becoming a big sister agrees with her. She is a little "Mini Mommy."
Ellie has such a kind and helping heart. She LOVES to help you with any task you will include her in. From cooking, to dusting, folding laundry, emptying the dishwasher, unloading the groceries, raking the leaves, changing baby sister's diapers, cleaning up her toys, feeding CeCe and GPa's dog, filling up CeCe's bird feeders, making the bed, the list goes on and on.
She loves her baby sister. As Ellie sings "Sista, Sista!" She brings toys to share with Erin, lays down next to her and does tummy time with her, tries to comfort her when she's crying saying "It's ok sister." And recently she told me "Ellie's going to check on baby sister."
Ellie is so silly!! Although she is a little shy in public and around new people. She always has to feel out new situations and get comfortable before she dives in. Once she is comfortable watch out because this child really doesn't sit still. She really only sits still when your reading a book or she's sitting on the potty. (No, she isn't potty trained. We have just started practicing because she is very interested)
Ellie absolutely loves music!! She has quite an eclectic taste in music. From Fleetwood Mac (a favorite since was very young, could always calm her down in the car), to Adele, Taylor Swift, lots Oldies, nursery rhymes and children's songs of all kinds. She sings all the time and amazes us at how quickly picks up new songs and starts singing them. One morning she woke up singing "Rumor Has It" by Adele. Haha!

We love having dance parties around the house. Ellie and Daddy's favorite is dancing to Monster Mash after bathtime when she uses her monster towel. They are so silly :)
I love her little voice!! The inflection and excitement when she talks and the interest she has in everything around her.
"I don't know what that is." "Uh oh, how'd that get broken?" "Oh my goodness gracious!"
"Don't worry about it." "Probably need to do ______." "Probably need to go to ______" "Probably need to buy that at Target." Noticing a theme. Shes says "probably need to" a LOT.
"How about this or how about that?" Another thing she says all the time.
She is quite a little negotiator.
A funny thing she has picked up in the last few weeks is saying things like "It's breakfast time." "It's nap time." "It's lunch time." Those are all normal statements.
The funny ones are "It's makeup time!" (when I catch her in my makeup bag putting on makeup) "It's IPad time" (unlocking my IPad, finding her apps and playing her puzzles and games. She only gets to play every now and then and we set a timer for 10 mins. When the timer goes off she knows IPad time is over.) "It's phone time." (when she finds my phone to look at pictures.)
Ellies loves to read! Dr. Seuss books, Elmer books, Olivia the Pig books, Eric Carle books, any and all books. We have literally so many books in this house.
She loves books!!
Like every other parent we think are children are so smart!! Ellie just amazes me!! I love teaching her new things and she sure does love to learn. Ellie knows all her capital letters and some lower case. She counts to 10. And can count to 20 but skips 15 sometimes. She calls 20, Twentyteen :) She knows all her colors and shapes. Her vocabulary keeps growing and growing. It's amazing watching her learn, figuring out how things work and trying to accomplish something new.
She is a lot like me in the fact that she has a particular that she likes to do things. And she is a little obsessive compulsive. Taking apart every last Lego before it goes in the box, putting each stuffed animal in their specific chair, and so on. I can appreciate a girl who likes to be organized ;)
Ellie still loves going to gymnastics class and hopefully we will be signing up for swim class again soon!!!
Ellie loves to play with stickers and crayons and make "pretty pictures!"
She loves Play Doh too!
Her favorite toys are her Kitchen, Legos, puzzles, blocks, and her Minnie Mouse Bowtique dress up.
Love that little strut!!!
Ellie brings so much joy to our lives everyday!! She keeps life busy and exciting.
We can't wait to see what this next year holds.
